Baby Pageant
Pre-Registration at the Fairgrounds Tuesday through Friday from 2:00 - 4:00 PM and 6:00 to 8:00 PM and on Saturday of the pageant from 1:00 to 2:00 PM. A fee of $1.00 must accompnay all registrations.

Dog Show
Registration will be from 1:00 PM until 1:45 PM on the day of the event (Monday, Labor Day). This contest will begin immediately after registration at 2:00 PM. Ribbons and trophies will be given.

Essay Contest
This year's theme is "When I Grow Up, I'm Going to ....?" All entries must be mailed to the fair exhibit address and postmarked no later than August 9th of current year.

Fair Queen Pageant
The purpose of the Fair Queen Competition is to encourage the promotion of Agricultural Fairs and create better relations between youths and adults in both rural and urban settings. The pageant is open to any girl at least 16 years of age who is a resident of Wayne or Pike County.

Fiddler's Contest
- No amplified instruments will be allowed.
- All contestants are required to play three (3) tunes in the contest.
- Contestants will be judged on the ability to play fiddle tunes of their choice in a set of three.
- Contestants will be judged on clarity, rhythm, timing and intonation.
- Judges decision will be final.
- In case of a tie for any of the top three positions, they will have to play one more tune.
- Contest to be held on Sunday at 6:00 PM .

Frog Jump Contest
This contest is for kids ages 15 and under.
- Classes according to ages by number of entries.
- Ribbons given for each class and Winner of Grand Finale.
- Each contestant must furnish own frog.
- Frogs cannot compete in more than one class with different trainers.
- Registration 1/2 hour before contest begins.
- Contest to be held on Sunday at 1:00 PM.

GDS Fair Fair Scholarship
The Association has been awarding scholarships to local undergraduates and graduate students since 1993. The purpose of the Greene-Dreher-Sterling Community Fair Associations’ scholarship program is to provide an incentive to future generations to actively participate in community volunteer activities including, but not limited to, our Fair Association. The judging criteria does not include "financial need", but rather bases the award on a student's accomplishments and community service. The awards are presented at the recipient's school annual awards program. For more information on previous recipients and how to apply, click here.

Poster Contest
- 22307 - Student age 8 – 11
- 22308 - Student age 12 – 14
- 22309 - Student age 15- 18
Ages as of June 1 of current year.
Premiums: 1- $10.00 2- $8.00 3- $6.00
RULES
- Only one poster may be submitted per student.
- Poster size must be 14.5” by 22” (equivalent to ½ of a standard poster board). Other sizes will not be accepted.
- This year’s theme is “Fun and Safety on the Fairgrounds”
- Posters will be evaluated on use of theme, visual appearance and creativity in relation to exhibitor’s age group.
- Exhibitor’s name and age must be printed on the back of the poster in the lower right hand corner.
- The three blue ribbon winning posters will be sent to the Department of Agriculture in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania. Said posters will be entered into state competition with cash prizes of $100, $75 and $50 (awarded to the top three entries by age group) during the PA Sate Farm Show in January. Winners will be notified in advance and invited to attend an awards presentation.

Scarecrow Contest
RULES:
- Contestants must furnish their own scarecrow frame and weatherproof materials.
- Only one entry per exhibitor.
- Scarecrow maximum sizes:
- Adult exhibitors – scarecrow height 6-7 foot.
- Youth exhibitors _ scarecrow height 3-5 foot
- Width – not to exceed with of the base
- Base: Use materials to support the scarecrow so that it will be freestanding and will not fall over.

Turkey Calling Contest
The Lake Region Longbeards Chapter of the National Wild Turkey Federation will be hosting the Fith Annual Turkey Calling Contest on Saturday September 2nd, 2006 at 5:00PM for all interested youth. A representative of the Chapter will be demonstrating different calls before the contest for all those interested in learning more about the Pennsylvania Wild Turkey.
- Registration will be from 4:30PM to 4:45 PM on the day of the event.
- All contestants will be asked to do a “hen yelp, a “cluck” and for a third call, “caller’s choice”.
- Calls will be available for contestants to use if they do not have their own.
- First, second and third place ribbons and prizes will be awarded in each of the Classes.
- Complimentary prizes for all youth entered.
- Normal fairgrounds admission fees apply.
